Motorola Milestone is GSM Droid

Motorola announced the first GSM Google Android 2.0 handset. It’s called the Milestone, and quite similar to Verizon’s Motorola Droid exept for a few changes.

The first thing you’ll notice is that the Milestone excells over the Droid with multitouch support. The Droid lets you to zoom in and out on the home screen by double tapping the screen, the Milestone also includes iPhone-like pinch capability for zooming in and out. Squeeze your fingers together to zoom in on Web pages, photos, maps and  spread them apart to zoom out. Google Android users have hungered after this feature, which is why I got excited when I first heard that Android 2.0 would offer it. Hopefully, the new Droid will get it since there’s really no reason that it doesn’t.

Milestone offers MOTONAV, which is the company’s own spoken turn-by-turn guidance and mapping system. Milestone also offers trial versions of their Easy Search, Lane Guidance, and Maps.

The hardware is identical to the Droid. They both have 3.7-inch 480×854-pixel resolution screens, 5-megapixel cameras with dual-LED flash, and 3.5mm headset jacks. But in a small change, the Droid comes with a 16GB microSD card and Milestone comes with an 8GB card. Internally, the only hardware difference is found in the radios; Droid is CDMA-based while Milestone is a quad-band GSM handset.

Italy and Germany will get it first with more countries coming later in the year.

You know, I like creative marketers and although I would have normally thrown this comment in the trash because you were trying to use my blog as a selling platform. I must admit it’s pretty forward of you to try it. I am posting it though for your courage and creativeness which I support from any marketer. NOTICE to any other advertisers … you won’t get yours posted so don’t bother sending them to me. This was an expression of celebrating creativeness. (love the link in here too, that was really good)
