Pivot, An Amazing New Experiment from Microsoft
I was just watching a TED conference speech about the new possibilities that are on the horizon. Pivot is one of those tools that that Microsoft is working on in their Live Lab and it’s still experimental but WOW! what a platform for the future of looking at information from a new perspective … or many perspectives.
From my perspective as CEO at iBuilderz, Internet marketing is an art and a science and is developed by “understanding” how people relate to information and how to present it in a better way so more people will understand the benefits of certain information to utilize for their best purpose. Especially when we design Web sites, we need to get our visitors to quickly and easily understand so people can get to the information they need without having to “really think about it.” The process needs “awareness” and thought so that your visitors don’t have to “figure it out.”
The video below was very stimulating and creates new possibilities for the future.
Gary Flake, of Microsoft Live Labs, discussed Pivot at the TED conference, TED2010, and demonstrated how you could look at different information and relational information from unique perspective though graphs and displays of data on people and information. MS Live Labs did an experiment with Wikipedia information that brought real sense and vision to disparate information and presented them all in various ways to give understanding to data.
Leave me some comments about this type of experimentation and keep me up-to-date on your findings. It should make for an extremely interesting topic for further posts.
